News and Announcements

Thursday May 17th
• We are now 13 school days away from the end of this 2nd semester! We understand that after testing, and a long year it is tempting to get relaxed and coast in to the summer, but now, more than ever it is important to stay focused and end the year strong. Remember F’s will not give you the credits you need for graduation and universities do not accept D’s. Take time today to speak with your teachers to see what assignments you are missing and work to get those in. If you have any questions please speak with your teachers or see me in the counseling office

• Yearbooks on still on sale for $25, buy yours today the price will go up to $30 on May 21st. The Yearbook staff will be hosting a Yearbook Signing party on June 5th for all those that have bought their books.

• ROP applications are due May 21st to me in the Counseling Office. If you are interested in signing up a for a course make sure to meet with me so we can ensure that the ROP course fits in to your High School Plan and will not disrupt courses you need for high school or college requirements.

• OCA will be hosting an SAT/ACT workshop on Saturday May 19th from 9am-12pm. This is a great opportunity to learn some test taking strategies and practice some of the questions that will be on the test. Please RSVP for the workshop with me

• Those students who are interested in taking courses through C.O.D in the fall remember your College Readiness Assessment and Teacher Recommendations are due to me, in the counseling office by Monday, May 21st. Make sure to get your recommendations out to your teachers today.

• Today is our Big Art and Music Show put on by our Junior class and Art Department. Encourage your family and friends to attend and see all the wonderful performances and art work that will be up. There were also be food and awesome raffles. The event starts at 6pm and goes to 8pm. Make sure to come out and support your friends and our school.

• This Friday, May 18th will be a minimum day on campus. School will end at 12:35pm. Let your parents know so that arrangements are made.
Wednesday May 16th!
• We are now about 3 weeks from the end of our 2011-2012 school year. I know after testing and after a long school year it is tempting to want to take it easy and coast. Use these next few weeks to find out where your grades are and to work with your teachers to bring them all to a C or better. • Sophomores and Juniors who will have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and are interested in taking course at C.O.D in the Fall, we will be having an informational meeting tomorrow during Family/Link in the Computer lab. We will discuss the application process and the essay that will be required for acceptance. Applications for Fall courses will be due the first week of June.
